And it begins

Got the first component of my build tonight.
Left handed B-5 Bigsby
I dug right in to tearing it apart.
That string bar with the 6 pins is what I gotta replace.

I was really impressed, needle bearings made in oosa.
I was just expecting some brass bushings.

On the right, original string bar with roll pins removed.  To be duplicated sans 2 pin holes.

If I am going to go to the trouble of making a new bar, midas well make it out of Ti.

Things to do while waiting for your 2-stroke

Wash your head.

File down casting lines/add cheezy accents to the head you don't even know fits yet.

Swap the stuffer plate for 2 more carbs and you should be set.

Its been a long time since I have been to Sugar River.
They were having Mini-supermoto racing last time I was.

Little Chainsaw

Just in case you had never heard a 100cc 2 stroke.

Picking it up tomorrow.

Head is expected to come in the mail too.
I just couldn't pass it up.

Cycle South

Scoped it on Net
Thanks to Aaron over at DPR for enlightening me

Decided to give it a watch on this 40 degree night.    Hoping to pickup that KE 100 this week, ordered a different head last week since the old one already had a stripped spark plug insert.

I have some plans.

A Little out the Middle

Enclosed Chain - Dork
We use to have a Bultaco with an enclosed chain(I think it was a Matador), I thought it was the goofiest thing ever at the time.
Now it makes sense.

Little did I know how sweet it could look.

Go fast, get sideways

This will always be a classic.

Ron Wood built Norton

Choppa Dave

I was digging around Chopper Dave's sites because I was looking to get a hold of Adam over at Milkhaus Speed Research.
Drag Queen
I had talked to him a few years back at the Hardtail party in Milwaukee about where he got his frame nickel plated.
Someone at Trek is looking to plate a bicycle frame and Adam recommended Hydro Platers Electroless Nickel for a nicer plate.

So back to Chopper Dave,
So much sweet shit on that site.
Super Road Race Ceriani
Its one thing to make a a "Flat Track" bike
Its another thing to make good use of it.

Japan
Why wont someone make a god damn dirt track tire that will last more then 300 miles on the road.

Tis' the season..
.. to see if your Indian will start up.

I love the look of these old S&S stack covers on an L body.
You can do so much sweet shit with a foundry, one of these days.
Alright, enough motorcycle propaganda.  I should probably be studying.

Crocker

Planning my Bass build.
If I can find a deal on a left handed B5 Bigsby, I hope to modify it for my Electric Construction class next semester.
Im thinking
LPB with Comp stripes
Short scale Mustang bass
Right handed Bigsby - Upside down
Problem #2 with the Bigsby is I gotta make a roller bridge to get it to play worth a damn.   We will see how my winter break goes.   Still got that Y-Bike guitar to finish.

Winding something close to a Charlie Christian Pickup
Then just some simple body wood, hoping to do a Lake Placid Blue or Fiesta Red
Maybe a flamed neck

Every once in a great while..

my living room becomes clean for about a week.   Now that my free time isn't spent burning dinosaurs, I have had time to make a place to sit.
So I have been watching movies all week.
Dug this one out.
